The Donor List

A donor list on a dark web site names one of a streamer’s viewers. A fictional horror story about a vanished account, a waiting room and an unwanted parcel.

Mateo Cruz was a small streamer, not a celebrity.

At twenty-seven, he had around twelve thousand subscribers and made videos about internet mysteries, scams, strange forums, and digital urban legends. Most of his audience watched because he was sceptical. He liked exposing fake stories.

That was why the donor list bothered him so much.

The Donor List

He found it during a livestream in late November.

The page looked crude. No logos. No dramatic skull graphics. Just white text on grey boxes.

Each listing contained a first name, age, blood type, approximate weight, and a short medical history.

Some descriptions read:

Healthy kidney donor.
No known hereditary illness.
Travel required.
Buyer covers procedure.

Mateo assumed it was a scam designed to steal cryptocurrency from desperate people.

Then his chat started moving faster.

One viewer wrote:

WAIT GO BACK.

Another:

THE USERNAME.

Mateo scrolled up.

At the bottom of one listing was a field he had missed:

REFERRED BY: N0CTURNAL_ASH

That username belonged to one of his regular viewers.

A woman named Ash who had been in his chat almost every stream for more than a year.

She had stopped appearing about three weeks earlier.

Mateo stared at the screen.

“Ash, if you’re watching, message me right now.”

No answer.

He ended the stream ten minutes later.

The next morning, Mateo posted that the page was probably fake and asked viewers not to search for it.

That evening he received a direct message from a new account.

Why did you show the inventory?

He blocked it.

A second account messaged him.

Ash volunteered.

He blocked that one too.

Then an email arrived containing a photograph.

It showed a woman sitting in what looked like a clinic waiting room. Only half her face was visible, but Mateo recognised her from a selfie she had once posted in his community server.

It was Ash.

She looked exhausted.

On her wrist was a paper medical band.

Across the bottom of the photo, someone had typed:

DO NOT CONFUSE CONSENT WITH SAFETY.

Mateo contacted police and handed over the image, the website address, and his stream recording.

He was advised not to investigate further.

For nearly two weeks, he didn’t.

Referred by Ash

Then a package arrived at his apartment.

Inside was a cheap USB stick.

There was no note.

The drive contained one video file.

Mateo did not upload it, but he described it later to a friend.

The video showed the same waiting room as the photograph.

Ash entered from the left and sat down.

She looked directly into the camera.

For forty seconds, nothing happened.

Then she lifted a piece of paper.

Three words were written on it:

I DIDN’T AGREE.

The video ended.

There was metadata on the file indicating it had been created that morning.

Mateo called police again.

That night, his channel went offline.

Not suspended.

Deleted.

His email recovery address had been changed. His cloud backups were wiped. His community server disappeared.

The next day, his apartment building’s security system logged his key fob entering at 3:14 a.m.

Mateo was not home.

He was staying with his brother across town.

Building footage showed a person in a hood entering behind another tenant.

Their face was never visible.

They used Mateo’s key fob to open his door.

They remained inside for nine minutes.

When Mateo returned with police, nothing obvious had been stolen.

But on his desk, where the USB drive had been, was a printed sheet of paper.

It looked like one of the listings from the donor site.

Name: Mateo.

Age: 27.

Blood type: correct.

Weight: correct within a kilogram.

Medical history: accurate.

At the bottom:

REFERRED BY: N0CTURNAL_ASH

Police told him it was almost certainly intimidation.

Mateo moved shortly afterward and stopped making dark web videos.

He never publicly discussed Ash again.

Two years later, a brand-new account appeared on his private social page.

The profile image was blank.

The account followed only one person: Mateo.

Its username was:

N0CTURNAL_ASH_2

He accepted the follow request.

The account immediately sent one message.

You should have kept the stream running.
