READING GUIDE

Read the case beyond its most familiar headline

A case file needs more than a frightening premise. Begin with who was affected, where and when the events happened, and what the investigation established. Separate allegations, verdicts, disputed claims and unanswered questions. The distinction is especially important in an unsolved case, where a popular theory can become more familiar than the evidence supporting it.

Unsolved Murders is the route for cases whose responsibility or full circumstances remain unresolved. Serial Killers groups case files around repeated murder investigations. Read the sources supplied with a researched record and check which date an update refers to; a new article date does not by itself indicate new evidence. Corrections can change how a case should be described. For fictional crimes and invented narrators, continue to Horror Fiction. For broader missing-person and unexplained-case topics, the Mysteries directory offers a separate path.
