Clear labels. Careful records.
Darkrecord publishes different kinds of material, so every record should make clear what the reader is looking at: fiction, a reader-submitted personal account, or researched editorial material.
Fiction and personal accounts
Horror fiction is labeled as fiction. Reader-submitted accounts describe the contributor’s experience as they remember it and are not presented as independent proof of paranormal or unexplained claims.
Research and sources
When an article reports verifiable events, names, dates, locations or public claims, reliable sources should be used where practical. Established facts, disputed claims and unanswered questions should be distinguished from one another.
Corrections
Material errors should be corrected when credible evidence shows that a published statement is inaccurate. Significant factual updates should be reflected in the article and, when appropriate, in its modified date.
Privacy and anonymity
Contributors should avoid sharing unnecessary private information. Pseudonyms or withheld identifying details may be used when appropriate, especially when publishing a name would create a reasonable privacy or safety concern.
Commercial relationships
If a record contains a paid placement, sponsorship, affiliate relationship or another material commercial connection, that relationship should be disclosed clearly enough for readers to understand it.
